Arian Osborne

Office Manager

Fun Fact: Arian produced, wrote, directed, and narrated an educational YouTube channel for children called Maggie’s Suitcase.

Arian is a California native who moved to Oregon and lived there for quite some time before relocating to Colorado for graduate school. After a decade being landlocked, she desired both the mountains and the ocean again, and Maine satisfied both without the very real threat of wildfire. She earned her BA in history from the University of Oregon while raising two children, and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Denver. During her career, she held various administrative roles that prepared her for her position as the office manager at Rarebreed.

Arian lives in Gorham, Maine, with her daughter, Ryenn. Her son, Izsak, lives in Colorado. She is passionate about many things, including laughing, music, reading, creating art, writing, hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, the ocean, and her awesome kids

Timothy Norden

Fun Fact: Tim circumnavigated the world between two of his deployments in the Navy, one from San Diego, California, and the other from Norfolk, Virginia.

Tim grew up in central Massachusetts and earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Boston University. Afterward, he spent eight years in the US Navy as a nuclear engineering officer before returning to Massachusetts to work as a project engineer and later an operations manager at a local utility company. While working there he completed an MS degree in engineering management at Tufts University. He then worked in facilities and lab management in the life science industry in Cambridge, Mass., before joining Rarebreed.

Tim and his wife, Sarah, live in Medford, Mass., with their pandemic pup, Russell, and spend most of their weekends in Maine with friends and family. Tim loves to travel and enjoys the outdoors — camping, hiking, biking, snowboarding, and paddleboarding. In his spare time, he also loves cooking, especially making pizza and grilling.

Fun Fact: Tina presented her undergrad research at UCLA to over 200 neurologists from around the world.

Tina comes to Rarebreed with a background in clinical medicine, healthcare administration, and operations. She had planned to go to medical school before deciding to focus on her family instead. While pursuing a master’s degree in public health, which she received from the University of New England, she became interested in and passionate about the connection between animal health and public health. Tina grew up on the coast of Maine.

Sean Miller

Chief Operating Officer

Fun Fact: Sean plays in the Kennebunk Cornhole League (KCL) at the beach each summer.

Prior to co-founding Rarebreed, Sean held various roles at IDEXX Laboratories on the Corporate Development & Strategy and Corporate Accounts teams. Before IDEXX, Sean was a corporate strategy leader at PTC in Boston.

He began his career holding finance and partnership roles at State Street Corporation and Sprint Nextel prior to moving to management consulting at Accenture. Sean is also a co-founder of Mattie’s Treats, a specialty pet food company that provides treats for dogs with kidney disease while funding research with proceeds.

Sean holds a Master of Business Administration from the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from Villanova University.

He resides in Kennebunk, Maine, with his wife, two children and their Golden Retriever, Tenney.

Dan Espinal

Chief Executive Officer

Fun Fact: Dan was a hockey goalie in high school.

Before co-founding Rarebreed, Dan headed IDEXX Laboratories’ in-house chemistry business and Corporate Development and Strategy team. There, he led and executed global acquisitions, managed the annual strategic planning process and structured complex partnerships to serve as the technology for new companion animal diagnostic pillars. During his career, Dan also worked as a venture capital investor at Allied Minds plc, focusing on internet and communication technologies. And he was a management strategy consultant at JSA Partners (formerly AT Kearney), a mergers and acquisitions and strategy consultancy in Boston.

Dan is a combat veteran and Airborne Ranger-qualified infantry officer with service time as a combat advisor embedded with the Afghan National Civil Order Police. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan School of Business) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University.

An active triathlete, he resides in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, with his wife, three children, and his dog, Boomer.

Sam Thibault, CVT

Fun Fact: Sam is an avid antique collector and enjoys woodworking and restoring furniture..

Sam is a native of the Syracuse, New York, area where she began her career as a kennel attendant at a local shelter. She found her purpose there and pursued her passion for animals by attending Mount Ida College to obtain her veterinary technology degree. She moved to Nantucket where she excelled in general practice and became a member of the New England Aquarium Marine Mammal Field Response Team. After leaving Nantucket, Sam worked for an emergency and referral hospital where she spent time in the ER/ICU and in dermatology and later worked as a supervisor. Taking a step out of practice, she refined her skills as a practice consultant.

Sam lives in the hamlet of Leeds, New York, with her wife, her dog, Petunia, three cats, Gilly, Max, and Tomato, and 15 chickens. She enjoys homesteading and restoring her 1890 farmhouse.
