Laura has extensive accounts payable experience gained from working in a variety of industries including construction and food service. She is excited to be part of the Rarebreed accounting team where she can combine her accounts payable experience with her love of animals and helping others. Laura was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where she currently lives with her boyfriend and two dogs, a black and white Pomeranian named Domino and a Yorkie named Beau. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, camping, baking, going to the beach, and binge-watching anything true-crime related.
Fun Fact: Joshua worked in the restaurant industry for eight years.

Joshua graduated high school with a passion for cooking and being in the dining environment. He realized after many years of learning and growing in the industry that his true passion was more for the management side. He went to Salem State to earn his accounting degree and pursue a career working with others to help grow their businesses. While working in accounts payable at Vets Best Friend, he helped grow the community 40 hospitals. When he’s not working, you can find Joshua playing with his cats, outside gardening, spending time with his friends, cooking, or at his local candlepin alley for a few strings.
Fun Fact: Mariam is from Georgia – the country, not the state.
Mariam is a business analyst with experience in management consulting, research and economic analysis. With a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Northeastern University, Mariam focuses on analysis to enable decision-making, execution and strategic planning at both the corporate and hospital levels.
Currently residing in Boston, Mariam was born in the country of Georgia and speaks three languages – and is currently learning a fourth. She is a wine enthusiast who loves traveling and exploring local wine varieties. In her free time, Mariam likes to dance, play tennis, read and spend time with her big family.
Fun Fact: Eric has a twin brother – but they have different birthdays.

Driven, analytical and detail-oriented, Eric is an accounting professional with 10 years of experience. At Rarebreed, he manages day-to-day accounting operations, implements internal controls and handles complex activities, including acquisitions and consolidations. Eric also operates as the fund coordinator for a local non-profit organization in his hometown of Gorham, New Hampshire.
Prior to Rarebreed, Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting Finance from Southern New Hampshire University. He spent five years in public accounting as a financial statement auditor, gaining expertise in the healthcare and banking industries. Eric then transitioned into the private sector, serving as the controller for an urgent care network for over three years.
In his free time, Eric enjoys a good Netflix binge, spending time with his wife and rescue dog, Sadie, finding the latest craft breweries and playing golf.
Fun Fact: Laurie lived in the bay area of California in 1989, only 50 miles from the epicenter of the 7.0 earthquake that rocked the World Series and cracked the foundation of her apartment building.

Before joining Rarebreed, Laurie spent five years in payroll working for a large energy company with locations throughout the US and Canada. Before that, she worked within the accounting groups for an insurance company, processing retroactive billings.
She enjoys working as a team and loves researching and solving problems. She lives in western Maine and enjoys outdoor activities such as snowmobiling and riding ATVs with her children, a son and four daughters. Her family also includes two senior dogs and three cats.
Fun Fact: Amanda’s first flight, at the age of 18, was from Boston to Tokyo, where she and her English handbell choir performed at an international handbell symposium.

Amanda comes to Rarebreed with over 20 year’s experience in finance and accounting. She’s spent much of her career working as part of the accounting operations team of a Fortune 100 company in P&C insurance, handling all things payroll accounting. While there, she implemented many process improvements, increased efficiency, and streamlined procedures, saving the company hundreds of work hours annually. Amanda loves accounting and looks forward to learning new things every day.
Amanda received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting/finance from Southern New Hampshire University. She lives in the foothills of the Lake’s Region in New Hampshire with her husband, two children, and dog, Simba. In her spare time, she can be found attending ballet classes, being a dance mom to her two kids, spending time with her extended family, or gardening in her yard.
Fun Fact: Rhonda is a beekeeper.

Rhonda comes to Rarebreed with a background in business administration and over 20 years of experience in budgeting and accounting in municipal government and banking.
A lover of dogs, Rhonda felt a connection to Rarebreed’s vision and culture and is proud to be a member of the Rarebreed family. Rhonda dreams of one day owning a food truck specializing in healthy rice bowls and all-natural dog treats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and making memories with her grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling, yoga, mindfulness and meditation, and listening to live music. Rhonda resides in Lyman, Maine, with her husband and two dogs.
Fun Fact: Melissa teaches dog training classes – everything from behavior modification to agility – at the Richmond, Virginia, SPCA.
Melissa grew up in Minnesota and for her seventh birthday asked for a “vet kit.” Her mom bought her a stethoscope and rolled gauze and Melissa’s love of animal welfare was born. As an adult, Melissa sought roles as an animal welfare volunteer and a veterinary practice manager. She learned extensively about the veterinary industry and became passionate about comprehensive animal care. She also became interested in the world of finance and has worked professionally in various accounting roles since 2006 with a diverse assortment of companies ranging from transportation to investments. Melissa loves that she can unite her interests while serving and caring for the veterinary community through Rarebreed.
Melissa earned her BS in accounting at Virginia Commonwealth University and currently volunteers for the foster-based dog rescue she founded. In her free time, Melissa enjoys hiking with her dogs and gaming with friends.
Fun Fact: Sherrie loves to sew, and has sewed thousands of scarves for an Elvis impersonator who performed across the country.

Sherrie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. After teaching in Ohio, she returned to Maine where she tutored children for many years. She also worked in the business field where she found she loved working in payroll. And, because of her love for animals, she also worked at Kindred Spirits Veterinary Clinic, a Rarebreed partner hospital. It was the love, compassion, and values that she saw at Kindred Spirits that brought her to Rarebreed.
Sherrie comes from a large family and is next to the oldest of eight children. She lives in Old Town, Maine, with her dog, Elle, and cat, Cole. In her free time, Sherrie enjoys spending time with her family and taking Elle to the water.
Fun Fact: Morgan has over 20 tattoos.

Prior to joining Rarebreed, Morgan spent three years working as a member of accounting and finance for ConvenientMD in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She attended Lesley University and the Art Institute of Boston, focusing on graphic design. Her creativity led her to Paul Mitchell the School in Portsmouth, where she studied and taught cosmetology. There, she found a passion for figures and finance as she took on a leading role in helping students navigate the FAFSA and the complexities of financial aid.
A lifelong native of the seacoast, Morgan currently lives in Portsmouth with her boyfriend, Aaron, and dog, Theotis. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her younger sister and best friend, Kelsey. She enjoys camping and hiking in the White Mountains, reading, dancing, and a good glass of wine.
Fun Fact: Kendall hiked the Cinque Terre while studying abroad in Perugia, Italy.

Kendall joined Rarebreed in 2020, after working as a senior financial analyst for the Companion Animal Group at IDEXX Laboratories. In her current role, she focuses on providing powerful financial data to drive critical business decisions and strategies.
Earlier in her career, Kendall worked as a senior accountant at American Realty Capital, focusing on real estate investment trusts for high-end commercial real estate and for Urban Outfitters on retail e-commerce and brick-and-mortar. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University.
In her spare time, Kendall likes to travel, hike, stand-up paddleboard and spend time with her husband and daughter.
Fun Fact: Hallie learned how to knit when she was six and it remains one of her biggest passions.

Having studied art history in college, Hallie didn’t expect to end up working in the accounting field. But after several years of wearing many hats for a small business – including accounts payable – she became enamored with the world of debits and credits and sought additional education and work opportunities.
Hallie was attracted to Rarebreed because of its clear vision of people first. She is honored to work alongside a team that strives to create the best possible environment for veterinary professionals and their clients and patients.
Fun Fact: Tammy used to be a pastry chef.

Tammy has worked in the accounting field for over 20 years and brings to Rarebreed a great deal of experience in payroll, human resources, benefits, and accounts payable and receivable. She thoroughly enjoys payroll and thrives in a busy environment where she can continue to learn new things.
Tammy recently moved back to her home state of Maine after 14 years in Florida. She is happy to be back and looks forward to welcoming more pets once she’s settled in her new home. Her interests include baking, cooking, and doing anything outdoors. She loves to kayak, hike, go camping, and work in the garden. She is currently learning sign language and looking forward to taking Spanish classes.
Fun Fact: Krista plays softball in an adult coed recreational league; her favorite position is second base.

Krista comes to Rarebreed from a retail background of 29 years. Her retail experience includes roles in customer service, bookkeeping, management, human resources, payroll, and pharmacy. Most recently she worked as a certified pharmacy technician in a hospital setting. Krista says that one of her greatest accomplishments is becoming a mother and that family is her greatest treasure. When she’s not working, Krista enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, their dog, Marshall, and cat, Quinn. After honeymooning in Hawaii, Krista decided it was her favorite place, and she hopes to make another trip there with her whole family. Until then, their favorite spots to visit are Disney World and Discovery Cove.
Fun Fact: Johanne ran her first and last marathon in Portland, Oregon.

Johanne was born and raised in Quebec City and is fluent in French. Before joining Rarebreed, she had an extensive career in the hospitality industry in finance and accounting. As an independent consultant, she spent 10 years traveling to over 20 hotels in 5 different countries, assisting in the accounting cycle, both in an operating and corporate environment. She later relocated to Portland with her husband and 2 rescue dogs to be closer to family and friends and later joined the City of Portland’s finance department. It was Johanne’s love of animals and desire to help make a difference that eventually brought her to Rarebreed.
Johanne holds a BSc in physiology from Laval University and an MBA from the University of Ottawa. In her free time, she likes to run, swim, bike, garden, bake and spend time with her husband, David, and her dogs, Max and Dakota.
Fun Fact: Clint hiked Mount Katahdin 12 years in a row.

Prior to joining the Rarebreed family in 2022, Clint spent seven years in the veterinary industry leading various finance teams, most recently as the finance business partner for IDEXX Laboratories’ software business. He also held finance roles supporting the company’s in-house diagnostics business, marketing programs/promotions, and corporate accounts. Clint holds an MBA from Saint Joseph’s College and a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Maine.
A native Mainer, Clint enjoys exploring the beautiful state with his wife and three boys. He loves skiing, hiking, and golfing, and anything to do with New England sports teams.
Fun Fact: Cam once caught a 45-inch striper just off Casco Bay.

Cam joined the Rarebreed team in March 2021 after working as a financial analyst for the in-house diagnostics line of business at IDEXX Laboratories. His focus was on developing dynamic key performance indicator-based analysis, dashboard creation, and investor reporting.
Cam’s earlier experience includes interning for two summers at Nestle Waters North America with the transportation finance team. He was born and raised in Maine, growing up in South Paris and later Lewiston. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management from the University of Maine. Out of the office, Cam likes to golf, freshwater fish, hike, and spend time with his large, close-knit family.
Fun Fact: In India, Vaishali represented her college in ping pong.

Vaishali was born and raised in India, where she enjoyed a rich cultural environment. She pursued a career as a company secretary, a title comparable to corporate attorney in the United States, gaining expertise in corporate law and due diligence.
In 2017, Vaishali moved to the United States and earned a master’s degree in finance from the University of New Hampshire. Her love for animals and the values that Rarebreed exemplifies motivated her to join the company. Outside of work, Vaishali enjoys painting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Fun Fact: Jen has worked concert security for over 15 years and has seen more than 800 concerts.

Jen brings extensive experience in payroll, human resources and leave administration in areas that include the automotive industry, the mortgage industry, nonprofit and retail. Her true passion is payroll, and she enjoys the pressure of payroll processing, analyzing numbers and working with Excel!
Jen has lived in Maine her whole life and recently purchased a condo in Old Orchard Beach with her two cats, Sophie and Buddy. In her free time, she enjoys cooking new recipes from Pinterest, kayaking, watching sports, traveling and taking advantage of walking on the nearby beaches.
Fun Fact: Kate speaks Russian.

Kate is a licensed certified public accountant and certified internal auditor with experience in accounting, auditing, financial close management, and compliance. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with minors in accounting and business administration from the University of Southern Maine. Kate lives in Falmouth, Maine, with her family and is the proud mom of her son, Nicholas, and her Pomeranian, Simba. Kate likes to spend her free time outdoors, traveling, and reading.
Fun Fact: Bill lived on an aircraft carrier while serving in the United States Navy and has “cruised” the Mediterranean Sea.

Bill comes to Rarebreed with an MBA from Bentley College, a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Suffolk University, and more than 20 years of payroll, accounting, human resources and benefits experience. He’s worked in a variety of industries, including healthcare, research, software and medical manufacturing. At Rarebreed, Bill is working toward expanding and enhancing the payroll systems as the company continues to grow.
Bill is a team player who enjoys getting deep into the details and analysis (aka weeds) of his work. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, kayaking and boating. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife, daughter and four spoiled cats.
Fun Fact: Meredith is a Top Chef superfan and watched Season 18 weekly at one of the contestant’s restaurants.

Meredith lives in southern New Hampshire. Before joining Rarebreed, she worked as a payroll specialist for a medical staffing company. She processed payroll for nurses and allied health professionals and worked directly with the operations and software development team to create the company’s own mobile app for payroll and scheduling.
Outside of work, Meredith is studying to be a Sommelier; becoming a Master of Wine is a personal goal of hers. She is a diehard Chicago Bears fan and an avid fantasy football player. In her free time, outside of enjoying a glass of wine, of course, she loves cooking, creating craft cocktails, camping, and hiking with her three dogs.
Fun Fact: Brent is a golf enthusiast with two hole-in-ones.

Brent has spent his career in the animal health industry, most recently leading Finance for IDEXX Laboratories’ in-house diagnostics business. Brent played a critical role in establishing IDEXX’s Latin America operations, spending six months in Brazil to ensure a successful post-merger integration. He was also instrumental in the merger with Dechra Pharmaceuticals while at Putney Vet.
Brent holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southern Maine.
Brent resides in South Portland, Maine, with his wife, Jess and a 5-year-old black cat, commonly referred to as the “black panther.”
Fun Fact: Sam is an avid antique collector and enjoys woodworking and restoring furniture..

Sam is a native of the Syracuse, New York, area where she began her career as a kennel attendant at a local shelter. She found her purpose there and pursued her passion for animals by attending Mount Ida College to obtain her veterinary technology degree. She moved to Nantucket where she excelled in general practice and became a member of the New England Aquarium Marine Mammal Field Response Team. After leaving Nantucket, Sam worked for an emergency and referral hospital where she spent time in the ER/ICU and in dermatology and later worked as a supervisor. Taking a step out of practice, she refined her skills as a practice consultant.
Sam lives in the hamlet of Leeds, New York, with her wife, her dog, Petunia, three cats, Gilly, Max, and Tomato, and 15 chickens. She enjoys homesteading and restoring her 1890 farmhouse.
