Tina comes to Rarebreed with a background in clinical medicine, healthcare administration, and operations. She had planned to go to medical school before deciding to focus on her family instead. While pursuing a master’s degree in public health, which she received from the University of New England, she became interested in and passionate about the connection between animal health and public health. Tina grew up on the coast of Maine.

Jenn grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts. She began working as a veterinary assistant and was instantly drawn to the fast pace of emergency medicine. From there, she worked diligently as an ICU technician at multiple large specialty and referral hospitals. In 2020, she embraced the opportunity to work in urgent care at PetMedic. Through her years as a technician, Jenn realized her love for teaching and helping all support staff advance their knowledge.

Jenn lives in central Massachusetts with her family, which includes a Boston Terrier, Rooney; a pit bull mix, Moose; a Maltese, Olivia Benson; and a perfect black cat, Renly Baratheon. She loves rescuing elderly dogs and giving them a forever hospice home.

Nir Ben-Ari, DVM

Chief Medical Officer

Fun Fact: Dr. Ben-Ari is an avid surfer and will (occasionally) be seen braving a New England winter day in the water.

Dr. Ben-Ari was born in Israel but spent most of his childhood in the Boston area. He and his family relocated to Israel while he was in high school. Shortly after finishing school, he was enlisted into the Israeli Airforce where he served for three years. He later obtained a degree in biology with a business minor at Boston University, followed by a veterinary degree at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. He attended a small animal rotating internship in San Diego, where he fell in love with emergency medicine and surgery. Back in the Boston area, he worked as an emergency veterinarian for six years. During that time, he noticed a need for an “urgent care” type of service within the industry. He founded PetMedic Urgent Care, opened its first clinic in 2020, and later partnered with Rarebreed to replicate the model. He enjoys teaching, mentoring staff, and interacting with clients. He and his wife have two sons. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, sports, spending time with his family, and seeing his boys grow.

Jacob Strong

Project Manager

Fun Fact:  Jacob won a collegiate hockey national championship as a player and a Maine high school hockey state championship as a coach.

Prior to joining Rarebreed, Jacob spent over two years at Covetrus where he held several roles related to project management and financial analysis. Prior to that, he spent five years in Boston, working as an advisory consultant for accounting firms EY and BDO, servicing clients across North America and Europe. He specialized in process optimization, contract compliance, and risk mitigation across serval industries such as healthcare, financial services, and professional sports and entertainment.

Jacob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire where he dual majored in finance and accounting. He now lives in Scarborough, Maine, with his wife and their Native American Indian Dog, Meeko. Outside of work, Jacob loves to golf, spend time with friends, volunteer with the New England District of USA Hockey, and serve as the assistant coach for the Scarborough high school varsity hockey team.

Arian Osborne

Office Manager

Fun Fact: Arian produced, wrote, directed, and narrated an educational YouTube channel for children called Maggie’s Suitcase.

Arian is a California native who moved to Oregon and lived there for quite some time before relocating to Colorado for graduate school. After a decade being landlocked, she desired both the mountains and the ocean again, and Maine satisfied both without the very real threat of wildfire. She earned her BA in history from the University of Oregon while raising two children, and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Denver. During her career, she held various administrative roles that prepared her for her position as the office manager at Rarebreed.

Arian lives in Gorham, Maine, with her daughter, Ryenn. Her son, Izsak, lives in Colorado. She is passionate about many things, including laughing, music, reading, creating art, writing, hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, the ocean, and her awesome kids

Kimberly Jordan, DVM

Fun Fact: Dr. Jordan got married in an eight-hundred-year-old church in Italy.

Dr. Jordan grew up in Texas and attended Texas A&M University for both undergraduate and veterinary school. After working at both private and corporate practices in Raleigh, North Carolina, she spent a year traveling to different clinics when they needed a helping hand. Through this experience, she developed a passion for helping clinical teams find joy in the day to day and feel supported both inside and outside of work.

An avid gardener, she lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with her husband, Zach, and rambunctious Boston Terrier, Asparagus. She loves to travel and find inspiration for new recipes when hosting friends and family.

Fun Fact:  Bernetta was a director of a dance school where ballet, tap, ethnic, and lyrical dance were taught.

Bernetta began her veterinary care as a veterinary assistant in general practice. After graduating from tech school, her eyes were opened to the emergency, specialty, and critical care world of veterinary medicine. This proved to be the excitement that she had been missing. She quickly navigated a path into a management/leadership position where she trained, mentored, and cultivated veterinary technicians and assistants. Bernetta thrives on making connections with people and facilitating difficult conversations and direct communication. She has an associate degree in applied science from Camden County College and a BS in management from DeVry University. She lives in Pennsylvania with her three children and four fur children.

Timothy Norden

Fun Fact: Tim circumnavigated the world between two of his deployments in the Navy, one from San Diego, California, and the other from Norfolk, Virginia.

Tim grew up in central Massachusetts and earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Boston University. Afterward, he spent eight years in the US Navy as a nuclear engineering officer before returning to Massachusetts to work as a project engineer and later an operations manager at a local utility company. While working there he completed an MS degree in engineering management at Tufts University. He then worked in facilities and lab management in the life science industry in Cambridge, Mass., before joining Rarebreed.

Tim and his wife, Sarah, live in Medford, Mass., with their pandemic pup, Russell, and spend most of their weekends in Maine with friends and family. Tim loves to travel and enjoys the outdoors — camping, hiking, biking, snowboarding, and paddleboarding. In his spare time, he also loves cooking, especially making pizza and grilling.

Fun Fact: Jim had a leadership role in setting up the state of Maine’s human COVID testing lab at the beginning of the pandemic.

Prior to joining Rarebreed, Jim spent 15 years at IDEXX in a variety of leadership positions. With 10 years in IT leading software development teams and large strategic projects, he established the IT PMO. He then moved to the reference labs where he built a global PMO that grew to 25 project managers with a portfolio that included acquisitions, new instrument platforms, PCR automation, digital pathology, software projects, and new labs around the world.

Jim served in the US Army as a pathfinder and infantry officer. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Brenau University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Augusta State University. He also attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and is a licensed private pilot. Jim enjoys Maine outdoor activities, especially chasing his daughter down the hill at Sugarloaf. He lives in Scarborough, Maine, with his wife, daughter, rescue plot hound, Lucy, and German shepherd, Mac.

Prior to joining Rarebreed, Christine spent eight years at IDEXX where she led project teams in successfully opening veterinary diagnostic and PCR automation laboratories. She has worked in a variety of fields over the years including healthcare, recruiting, and human resources. She attended Plymouth State University concentrating in business/marketing and is working toward a master’s degree in counseling through the University of Southern Maine. In her role at Rarebreed/PetMedic, Christine will work toward establishing trust, reliability, and process in the pursuit of achieving the company’s next-level goals.

Christine is a proud Greater Portland Maine native. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, which typically includes either ice fishing or camping.

Adria’s passion for animals has always been a big part of who she is. Her many years of experience working in animal care began in a Maine animal shelter. Later, after moving to Florida, Adria flourished as a veterinary technician, surgery technician, inventory manager, and trainer. Most recently she lived in Guam where she worked as practice manager for an animal hospital. Now back in Maine, she is excited to continue her career with Rarebreed and complete her undergraduate certificate in veterinary practice management. In her free time, Adria enjoys horseback riding, painting and dancing.

LouAnn grew up in Maine and graduated from St. Joseph’s College where she triple majored in accounting, management and marketing. She also attended the University of Maine, earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and teaching. After spending 23 years in North Carolina working in NASCAR, selling real estate and rescuing dogs, she relocated to Maine and joined Rarebreed to combine her career with her passion for and love of animals. LouAnn spends her free time with her dog, Fender, and her family, which includes 15 nieces and nephews.

Fun Fact: Sam is an avid antique collector and enjoys woodworking and restoring furniture..

Sam is a native of the Syracuse, New York, area where she began her career as a kennel attendant at a local shelter. She found her purpose there and pursued her passion for animals by attending Mount Ida College to obtain her veterinary technology degree. She moved to Nantucket where she excelled in general practice and became a member of the New England Aquarium Marine Mammal Field Response Team. After leaving Nantucket, Sam worked for an emergency and referral hospital where she spent time in the ER/ICU and in dermatology and later worked as a supervisor. Taking a step out of practice, she refined her skills as a practice consultant.

Sam lives in the hamlet of Leeds, New York, with her wife, her dog, Petunia, three cats, Gilly, Max, and Tomato, and 15 chickens. She enjoys homesteading and restoring her 1890 farmhouse.
