Clarissa Evenden

Software & Data Solutions Business Analyst

Fun Fact:  Clarissa got her black belt in Tae Kwon Do when she was in fifth grade, but remembers none of it.

Clarissa grew up in upstate New York where not much ever happens. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she moved to Ithaca, New York, before moving to the West Coast. She comes from a human health care background and has worked as a cancer board coordinator, a laboratory applications analyst, and a data analyst. Clarissa is very excited to be able to use her background to help animals and those who care for them.

When Clarissa isn’t stopping random passersby to ask them questions about their dogs, she enjoys Pilates, cross-country skiing, watching movies, and reading books. She is a family tree research fan and has traced her family lines back to the late 1500s. Clarissa has a pug named Pumba who is a certified therapy animal and loves participating in the Read to the Dogs program at the local library and visiting with those in assisted living and memory care and nursing homes.

Shishira earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering at Texas Tech University and has since been working in various engineering roles related to hardware and software, such as test lead, development manager, and scrum master in chip fabrication. He has experience working in the insurance, banking, and veterinary fields.

Shishira enjoys spending his free time with his children, learning the ancient languages Sanskrit and Tulu, and reading about new technologies such as Blockchain.

Andrew attended York County Community College and has been working in the technology field for over 15 years. Starting from a modest beginning as a Staples Easy Tech, Andrew has worked with technology in healthcare, retail, manufacturing, government, and MSP environments. All of this has led to a breadth of lessons learned through experience in the field.

He has always been a geek and has been fascinated with technology since he was seven years old. Andrew has always been motivated to be the change he wanted to see in the world and strives to make tech support a team effort custom-tailored to each user.

When he is not working you can find Andrew working on projects around the house or spending time with his wife and three young children. Beach days are always great, and summer is by far his favorite season in Maine.

Jim has been developing software professionally for over 30 years. Working in a variety of industries, his primary focus has been data-driven workflow applications. Jim enjoys empowering people by providing them with easy access to the tools and data they need to excel in their roles. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jim is a lifelong Steelers fan. He and his wife, Kathy, live in Yarmouth, Maine, with their two lovely Havanese, Luna and Stella. In his spare time, Jim enjoys boating on Casco Bay, exploring Maine, golfing, and working in the yard.

David Searle bridges the gap between operating a business efficiently and securing a business effectively by putting his seven years of industry experience to work for Rarebreed and its valued partners. His background is rooted in IT Operations and Security. He has experience in large-scale, nationwide hotel chain cloud and physical environments and cutting-edge research facilities located here in the great state of Maine. If he’s not stuck behind a computer, you can find him restoring his historic home or out on the first tee at his local club, hopefully finding a fairway.

Biswa Prakash

Chief Technology Officer

Raised in a family of world-renowned scientists, Biswa has a creative mind for innovation and solving problems. In his 20+ years of software development experience as an individual contributor and people leader, he has delivered efficient, high-quality customer-facing and back-end solutions in the e-commerce, healthcare and veterinary domains.

Biswa’s software development mantra is to build software that will change people’s lives for the better. He brings an immense level of enthusiasm and creativity into every facet of software development and strongly believes in adopting and incorporating technologies to simplify and shorten solutions and timelines.

In his spare time, Biswa enjoys playing the Tabla. He studied it professionally from his Guru from the age of four until 22, even performing in a few shows. Biswa also previously taught music.

Fun Fact: Dave is the eldest of 6 siblings.

Prior to joining the Rarebreed family in 2021, Dave spent 15 years in the veterinary industry with roles that included repair of blood analyzers, data analysis, and leading the vision and strategy for a veterinary software product. During this time, he developed a passion for understanding the needs of veterinary practice teams and building team cultures focused on providing the best solution for those end users. Dave looks forward to continuing his mission at Rarebreed and feels in sync with the company’s core values of love, respect, and fun and its purpose-driven culture.

A native Mainer, Dave enjoys exploring all that this beautiful state has to offer. He also loves boating, fly fishing and cooking for family and friends. He lives in Gorham, Maine, with his two children and their dog, Baxter.

Jordan Gilbert

IT Systems Specialist

Fun Fact: Jordan has visited every state in the United States except Alaska, Arizona and Michigan.

As an army kid, Jordan had the travel bug instilled in him from a young age. He lived in Hawaii and Germany, with many states and countries in between, before settling in Maine with his wife, drawn to the state’s wonderfully lush outdoors, beautiful coastline, and proximity to family.

Jordan’s lifelong love of animals led him to a career in animal welfare, working in shelters both directly with animals and with volunteers, and then to a state-level program related to care, licensing and inspection for pet facilities. After a brief stopover in the brewing industry, Jordan transitioned to information technology and security. He feels that joining Rarebreed was a wonderful mix of old and new pursuits.

When not working, Jordan loves cooking, hiking, craft beer, and – as a Metal and Punk fan – loud and fast live music.

Along with the Rarebreed mission of love, respect and fun, Jeremy was initially drawn to Rarebreed because of the authenticity, mindfulness and intelligence of the entire team. His breadth of experience in systems, development and leadership roles has created an opportunity for Rarebreed to differentiate its technical solutions in the veterinary profession. While focusing on security and ease of use for practice teams, Jeremy also leads the charge to integrate all internal and external software tools across the ecosystem.

Prior to joining Rarebreed, Jeremy achieved significant success in a broad and diverse range of technical leadership roles for both start-ups and larger corporations. He focuses on bringing secure, reliable, scalable and highly integrated solutions to the veterinary profession.

Jeremy is passionate about all aspects of wellness and improving himself – and says there is no better activity for downtime than a walk on the beach with his children and puppy.

Sam Thibault, CVT

Sam is a native of the Syracuse, New York, area where she began her career as a kennel attendant at a local shelter. She found her purpose there and pursued her passion for animals by attending Mount Ida College to obtain her veterinary technology degree. She moved to Nantucket where she excelled in general practice and became a member of the New England Aquarium Marine Mammal Field Response Team. After leaving Nantucket, Sam worked for an emergency and referral hospital where she spent time in the ER/ICU and in dermatology and later worked as a supervisor. Taking a step out of practice, she refined her skills as a practice consultant.

Sam lives in the hamlet of Leeds, New York, with her wife, her dog, Petunia, three cats, Gilly, Max, and Tomato, and 15 chickens. She enjoys homesteading and restoring her 1890 farmhouse.
